Film - Blood: The Last Vampire

So I've known about this for a little while now, but there will be as of the 26th June, a live action movie of the incredible (and one of my favourites) Manga flick, Blood: The Last Vampire. I do hope they can do it justice, certainly the trailer looks amazing but, as we all (sadly) know, this can mean nothing.

The story itself centres around Saya a beautiful 17 year old who hides a dark secret. She is really a 400 year old halfling born to a human father and vampire mother. For many of these years she has been a loner trying to rid the world of vampires, her internal conflict being she can only survive if she drinks the blood of those she kills.

If you havn't seen it already I would highly recommend putting the original, directed by Hiroyuki Kitakuba (Key animator on Akira and Gundam amongst many others), in your lovefilm.com list before June 26th. Sensational artwork, beautiful animation and a rather erie soundtrack from Yoshihiro Ike all add up to make it, in my eyes, one of the best Mangas of all time. I can't wait for this. Like I say I just hope its good.
